TP-Link

TP-Link’s 5GHz 300Mbps 13dBi Outdoor CPE, the CPE510 is dedicated to cost effective solutions for outdoor wireless networking applications. With its centralized management application, it is flexible and ideal for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage applications.  Professional performance, coupled with user-friendly design, makes CPE510 an ideal choice for both business and home users.

  • Enterprise Hardware
With Qualcomm Atheros level chipsets, high gain antennas and high quality material, specially designed enclosure, and PoE power supply, CPE510 is specially designed for outdoor use and can operate flawlessly in almost any climate, with operating temperatures ranging from -40℃ (-40℉) to +70 ℃ (158℉).

  • 15KM+ Wireless Data Transmission
Specially designed for outdoor uses, ideal for long distance wireless data transmission over 15km+, tested in the field.

  • TP-Link MAXtream TDMA Technology
As network scale increases, wireless competition and collisions among CPEs and base stations will be
so enormous that the real throughput of the network will drop, resulting in a serious impact on end-user
experience. To mitigate these effects, the CPE510 uses MAXtream TDMA Technology.

Features

  • Built-in 13dBi 2x2 dual-polarized directional MIMO antenna
  • Adjustable transmission power from 0 to 26dBm/200mw
  • System-level optimizations for more than 15km long range wireless transmission
  • TP-LINK Pharos MAXtream TDMA (Time-Division-Multiple-Access) technology improves product performance in throughput, capacity and latency performance, ideal for PTMP applications
  • Centralized Management System – Pharos Control
  • AP / Client / AP Router / AP Client Router (WISP) operation modes
  • Passive PoE Adapter supports up to 60 meter (200 feet) Power over Ethernet deployment and allows the device to be reset remotely

What is Point to Multipoint

Many businesses and homes rely on both wired and wireless technology in order to effectively carry communications between devices on a local LAN and the internet. Point to Point setups involve a single dedicated link between two points. In this scenario there is just one Access Point and one Client device. Point to MultiPoint configurations allows you to add further client devices to extend network access to more than one location.

The technology is often used in the WISP (Wireless Internet Service Providers) industry, establishing internet connectivity to remote locations which traditional fibre or copper cables cannot get to. The only requirement is that the site receiving a connection from an access point is within the range and visibility of the beam being transmitted.

Point to Multipoint is extremely scalable and reliable and should certainly be considered if you have a scenario such as the below:

Rural Internet Access: In rural areas, where it's difficult to lay cables for internet connectivity, Point to Multipoint can be used to provide high-speed internet access to remote locations. WISP providers can use this technology to connect clients from less than 1 km – 15km radius to a central Access Point, eliminating the need for expensive cable installations.

Public Safety and Security: Point to Multipoint can be used to provide reliable and real-time connectivity for public safety and security applications. CCTV cameras and other security devices can be connected to a central Access Point, allowing for remote monitoring and control from a central location.

Farming and Agriculture: Point to Multipoint can be used to connect sensors and other devices in farming and agriculture applications. For example, sensors in a milking parlour or shed can now be connected to a central Access Point using Point to Multipoint technology, allowing for real-time monitoring and data analysis.

Multi-Site Businesses: Point to Multipoint can be used by businesses with multiple locations to connect all their sites to a central network. This allows for centralized management and control of network resources, reducing the need for costly leased lines.

Education: Point to Multipoint can be used in educational institutions to provide high-speed internet connectivity to remote locations, such as satellite campuses. This allows for remote learning and collaboration between students and teachers in different locations.

Car Parks: Point to Multipoint can be used to connect cameras and sensors in car parks, allowing for real-time monitoring of parking spaces and occupancy levels. This information can be used to optimize parking space usage and improve overall efficiency.

Benefits of Point to Multipoint

Easy to Install – IC Plus have made this easier for our customers as we pre-program the devices to allow them to instantly connect with the Access Point once all devices are powered. Previously we would have to install multiple point to point pairs to provide connection to a second or third locations. The TP Link CPE510 antenna provides a 45 degree wide beam allowing for a large coverage area for further clients within the range of the Access Point.

Relatively Low Cost – Point to Multipoint are easy to add to an existing network and remove the requirement for digging trenches, installing and terminating long runs of cable.

Increased transmission distances - The TP Link CPE510 offer a significant increase on transmission distances compared to cable or fibre and can be connected to a client station at up to 15km away or more.

* Maximum wireless transmission rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Range and coverage specifications along with the number of connected devices were defined according to test results under normal usage conditions. Actual wireless transmission rate, wireless coverage, and number of connected devices are not guaranteed, and will vary as a result of 1) environmental factors, including building materials, physical objects and obstacles, 2) network conditions, including local interference, volume and density of traffic, product location, network complexity, and network overhead and 3) client limitations, including rated performance, location, connection quality, and client condition.
** Protection against lightning and electro-static discharge may be achieved through proper product setup, grounding and cable shielding. Refer to the instruction manual and consult an IT professional to assist with setting up this product.
*** Power supply distances are based on test results under normal usage conditions. Actual power supply distance will vary as a result of 1) AP status, including transmit power, connected devices and network traffic along with 2) cable properties, including type and texture, and 3) environmental factors, which include temperature and humidity.
